It’s common knowledge now; the healthcare reform bill is poised for passage. House Democrats, armed with the much-publicized commitment of previous pro-life holdout vote Bart Stupak (D-MI), are ready to send a bill to President Obama for his signature. But the prez is not resting on his laurels. He’s apparently planning a PR blitz to convince the American public that the push for his singular domestic legacy issue was a sound decision completely necessary for the country. With members of his party comparing today’s vote as being on par historically with those enacting Social Security and Medicare legislation, Obama appears to be getting the confidence of his party as he sets out to do so.

Reshaping the legislation’s image will take place in three phases, aides said: the immediate aftermath; the seven months until the November midterm elections; and the several years that follow, during which many provisions in the measure will gradually take effect

Already; conservatives, Tea Partyers, and other like-minded activists are contemplating their own brands of retaliation in response to the President’s career-defining legislation. | LINK
