Just who exactly is shaping the debate on healthcare reform? As it becomes increasingly apparent that, during this month’s congressional recess, President Obama is losing control of doing just that. It’s no small wonder why he wanted this matter over and done with. With polling showing faltering numbers on Obama’s domestic policy agenda and worries about taxing the middle class to fund many of those programs (in spite of his declarations otherwise), the current mational distress on the pending vote on health reform is carrying a renewed sense of urgency on all fronts and is a direct result of the influence of politics on the ever-omnipotent and proverbial court of public opinion. Is there a huge PR battle afoot over the next six weeks? In the words of Obama himself to many of his grassroots supporters: “The cost of inaction is simply too much for the people of this nation to bear.” | LINK
