The 51st annual Grammy Awards telecast has come and gone, and I have to say that it was a pretty decent show. I must admit that I am a huge music fan — one who finds a lot to like in many genres; and Sunday night truly did have something for everyone. It was a night in which no one act truly dominated, although there were favorites (Alison Kraus/Robert Plant, Coldplay). But the best thing about the show was that it was truly entertaining. A steady stream of talent permeated the entire night, one that reached a crescendo with a performance by Neil Diamond that was actually quite engaging.

Although my choice for album of the year did not garner the night’s biggest honor (which went to Kraus/Plant), Ne-Yo did win for R&B song of the year for his Number 1 R&B and Top 10 pop smash, “Miss Independent”; so not all was lost. For a night which even included a cross-generational mashup between Stevie Wonder and the Jonas Brothers, this year’s Grammys was truly one to be savored. Bravo! | LINK
