NY Grocery Store Chain Offers Free Oral Antibiotic Generics for a Limited Time
When I was training as a resident in upstate New York, I used to shop here for groceries all the time. Nice to know that Wegmans is doing its part to control the costs of healthcare. (But there are skeptics.)
Jean Mauer has medical insurance, yet she still spends about $100 a month on prescription drugs. “Without insurance, my prescriptions would cost me thousands of dollars a year,” said the 69-year-old Henrietta resident. It is for Mauer and others — especially those without insurance — that Rochester-based grocery chain Wegmans Food Markets announced Tuesday it will fill prescriptions for certain generic oral antibiotics for free from now until March 31.
