2008 Grammy Nominees Announced

For the first time in its now 50-year history, the Grammy nominations are being announced in primetime.  Whether that’s a function of gradually declining relevancy, ratings, or variety; the honchos at the Recording Academy believe that forcing drama in progressively disclosing the lucky ones will buy a sort of loyalty (let the Coldplay lobbying begin!) that will somehow linger for 60 days until the Grammy history book wraps its fifty-first year.*

*An early surprise: critical and cultural fave Leona Lewis will be denied a chance at the cursed Best New Artist award. | LINK
